Welcome to Senior Sidekicks

Senior Sidekicks is a 501c3 non-profit public charity whose mission it is to provide assistance to senior individuals to enjoy the companionship and health benefits of dog ownership. 

Canine companionship provides numerous physical and emotional benefits for senior citizens.  Studies have shown a lower risk of heart disease, lower stress and anxiety levels,  

decreased feelings of isolation, more positive outlook on life, ultimately improving the quality 

and longevity of life.

However, dog ownership for seniors has unexpected challenges and barriers. We strive to bridge the gap, fill the needs and improve the well-being both both the individual and their dog(s).  Our primary goal is addressing these challenges to enable current senior dog-owners to keep their pets as long as possible, and offer support for seniors looking to adopt a new dog.

Our group works to help support senior citizens looking to begin or continue their dog ownership through adoption sponsorship, adoption counseling to ensure a good dog/owner fit,  financial support for medical needs, provisions for their canine friends, and other needs 

specific to unique situations.
